Short Recap of Prison Break Season 4
Let’s recap the first 16 episodes of Season 4 of Prison Break, shall we?
Where to begin? Well, Michael left Lincoln, LJ and Sofia (so annoying) back in Panama while he travelled to Los Angeles to avenge the fake death of his prison sweetheart, Sara. While there, we find out that Michael and Mahone (who’s wearing a terrible hat) are actually working together to take down Gretchen, Whistler and The Company. Michael tries to kill Gretchen, but decides not to when she’s all “Dude, Sara’s not dead. Didn’t you see the commercials or read the spoilers?” Michael calls up Bruce, Sara’s dad’s old political buddy and learns that Sara’s indeed alive (duh). But then he gets arrested.
Meanwhile, down Panama way, The Company sends an assassin after Lincoln and he….um….reacts. Linc gets arrested and LJ and Sofia scram. Back in the US, Michael gets an offer from a Homeland Security agent, Don Self, to take down The Company by finding some device called “Scylla”. Self is all “Oh, did I mention that we got your brother on a first-degree murder charge and I had him extradited to the US and perhaps he could help you take down The Company?” Michael’s having none of it. Lincoln arrives and Bruce posts bail for the boys.
Oh, did I mention that Whistler got killed somewhere in there? Plus, Gretchen (the bitch), got kidnapped by Pad Man and this scary dude called Wyatt.
Ok, so Michael and Sara reunite and after Wyatt tries to kill them (and after Michael and Sara get all inflagrante delecto) Michael and Linc decide to take Self up on his offer. A;long the way, convenient plot points result in Sucre, Bellick and Mahone all getting arrested and they team up with Michael, Linc and Sara to take down The Company.
Plus, T-Bag also makes his way to the US and engages in some cannibalism along the way. He’s using Whistler’s old bird book and eventually makes his way to LA and a swanky apartment. He assumes a fake identity and starts working as a salesman at this company.
The team meets up with another criminal, Roland, who’s supposed to be their tech guy. They steal one of the Scylla data cards (which they thought made up The Company’s black book), only to discover that Scylla is actually 6 cards. And Michael’s having some serious nosebleeds.
Over the course of a lot of episodes the team keeps managing to steal each Scylla card one by one. And Michael keeps having nosebleeds (plus some serious migraines as time goes by).
Gretchen manages to escape Wyatt. And Gretchen meets up with, and teams up with, T-Bag, thus proving that the truly evil really do belong together. Gretchen’s pissed that Pad Man nearly had her killed and wants to team up with T-Bag to get the Scylla cards and take down The Company on her own terms.
Eventually T-Bag and the boys meet up and the boys use T-Bag’s access at his company, GATE, to find a way into the Company building close by. At some point Roland betrays the brothers and gets killed by Wyatt. Then Mahone kills Wyatt for killing his son back in the first episode (very sad). The boys get closer to the Company building and Scylla, but before they can make it to their final destination, Bellick sacrifices himself so the team can keep going. Also very sad.
Michael finally passes out and Sara takes him to the hospital. They find out that he has some sort of….tumor, I think. I can’t remember. The point is, he needs a brain operation to be cured of the same thing that killed his mother at the same age.
The boys make it into the room where the Scylla decoder is located and lure Pad Man into a trap. Plus, Sara’s holding his daughter, Lisa (another Company operative who seriously doesn’t like Gretchen) hostage. Pad Man shows that he has some love for his daughter and lets Michael and the others leave in order to ensure Lisa’s safety.
But then another betrayal….this time by Self. Self steals Scylla and wants all the sweet sweet money it’ll fetch for himself. And he teams up with Gretchen to get it. T-Bag’s left in the lurch, but the guy has about 14 lives so he manages to escape. There’s a firefight and the boys and Sara realize they’re royally screwed, openly wanted by the authorities again, and have nowhere to run. They try to trap Self but Michael ends up passing out again and gets kidnapped by some Company men.
Pad Man blackmails Linc and tells him to retrieve Scylla in exchange for Company doctors operating on Michael. The doctors operate and Michael almost dies, but doesn’t. He just has a dream with Westmoreland and realizes that Scylla is really information on stuff like clean energy and whole lot of other information that the Company is hoarding in an effort to be the only people who profit from it.
Along the way Scylla gets stolen, so Linc goes down to Miami and teams up with Mahone, Gretchen, Self and T-Bag to get it back. Michael gets taken to a cabin in the woods by Company guys who want to recruit him. One of the Company shrinks tells him that his mother is really alive and that she, like Aldo Burrows, worked for the Company. Michael manages to escape and Sara saves him and he tells her that he thinks his mother is really alive.
Down in Miami, Linc and the others are hot on the Scylla trail but Gretchen decides to betray them and they lose it. Linc is about to kill Gretchen when they find out what she’s done, but T-Bag begs for her life (because she actually has a daughter with Pad Man and I forgot to mention it before now). When we last see Gretchen, police and sirens are approaching her bleeding body. Back at the hotel, Linc answers the phone of a Company guy that was last linked to Scylla and we learn that the person who’s really after Scylla (and going up against Pad Man) is none other than Christina Scofield, Michael and Lincoln’s mother.
